About Stand My Watch

I will stand my watch and set myself on the rampart. And watch to see what He will say to me and what I will answer when I am corrected. (New King James: Habakkuk 2:2)

I will climb up into my watchtower now and wait to see what the Lord will say to me and how He will answer my complaint. (New Living Translation Hab 2:2)

A watchtower affords one the ability to see from a high vantage point. Especially danger or that cloud bringing rain that one has to strain to see in the natural, but by faith, it’s visible with eyes closed. In the gospels we’re told to watch and pray and in 1 Corinthians 16:13 we’re told to “watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave and be strong.” God has set watchmen in every arena of life. Some may surprise us because they speak through God given authority but not always through a church or ministry. We have to be open to hear and test all things to see how it lines up with His word.

We hear from God given wisdom, His written word speaking to us, prophetic voices speaking to us through others or directly from the Holy Spirit, words of knowledge, dreams and visions. We even hear through what we see, smell, taste, touch and hear. Our senses are always open if we listen. We hear through T.V., movies or books. He is always speaking in a way to get our attention and be in relationship with us. It’s usually our hearing that needs to be fine tuned or our walk perfected.

I have been called to watch and have been actively doing that for quite a few years. I intend to share what I hear as it relates to Habakkuk 2:2 regarding what I see, what is shown to me, and how I address my complaints and concerns to God. These thoughts may be from what I was shown in reading scripture that shed new light on a topic or a sharing of dreams, prophetic words or visions I was given by Him. I will share what I feel I am receiving on topics from scripture, to the church and/or its place in world events, politics, government, current events and how God talks or deals with me at any given time and how I may have responded. I may stay on a theme or just jot a short note. I’ll try to honestly share what I’m receiving on a given day. We’ll see where this goes.
